Education / Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school is required.

Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field; or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program; or courses in accounting/bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk.

Skills:

Ability to maintain accurate financial records and balance accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

Solid numeracy, accuracy, organization and attention to detail. Ability to work with general ledgers, journal entries, trial balances, payroll and financial reports.

Responsibilities:

- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile bank and other accounts.
- Prepare trial balances,



maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
- Calculate and prepare payroll and payments for taxes and other bills, as required.
- Complete and submit payroll/source deduction remittances and other required government forms and documents.
- Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports.
- Assist with preparation of tax-related records, filing and supporting documentation.
