The Jerz Group is looking for a Bookkeeping Lead/Manager to join our growing accounting team and become a trusted lead for a portfolio of e-commerce businesses, international companies, and globally mobile entrepreneurs.

This is an opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping/accounting professional who wants more than a traditional compliance role. You'll work directly with business owners, provide practical financial guidance, and help clients navigate the complexities of operating across multiple jurisdictions.

The role is fully remote, with the flexibility to work from wherever you are based.

What You'll Be Doing

?? US Bookkeeping & Financial Review

- ⁠Prepare and/or review bookkeeping and financial statements for individuals and businesses
- ⁠Review month-end close work for accuracy and proper classification
- Identify potential accounting issues before financials are finalized
- Work with the accounting team to ensure books are supported by accurate, well-documented records
- ⁠Coordinate with the tax team to ensure books are properly prepared for tax compliance

? International & Cross-Border Bookkeeping

- ⁠Support clients with bookkeeping considerations arising from international operations
- Assist with cross-border financial reporting and consolidation
- ⁠Analyze issues involving foreign entities, foreign ownership, and internationally mobile individuals
- Work with external legal and tax advisors when matters require specialized local-country expertise

? E-Commerce & Digital Businesses

- Support bookkeeping and financial reporting for e-commerce and online businesses
- Work with businesses using platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, Stripe and other payment processors
- Review the accounting treatment of multi-currency transactions and international payments
- Assist with sales tax and indirect tax bookkeeping considerations
- Help identify potential sales tax nexus issues from a bookkeeping perspective

? Advisory





- ⁠Support entity-structure and reporting decisions from a bookkeeping standpoint
- ⁠Assist with intercompany accounting considerations
- Advise clients on practical ways to keep clean, audit-ready books
- ⁠Explain complex accounting issues in clear, commercially practical language

? Client Relationship Management You will be a primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients. This includes:

- Joining client calls
- Explaining bookkeeping issues and recommendations
- Answering technical questions
- Discussing process improvements
- Communicating with clients by email and messaging
- Coordinating with other bookkeepers, accountants, tax preparers, lawyers and other skilled advisors

We're looking for someone who can make clients feel that their books are being handled by someone who understands both the technical details and the bigger picture.

What We're Looking For

Required

- 5–15 years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience
- ⁠Strong experience with US bookkeeping standards and practices
- ⁠Experience reviewing bookkeeping and financial statements
- Experience managing or mentoring a bookkeeping team
- Strong understanding of business accounting fundamentals
- ⁠Comfortable working directly with clients
- ⁠Excellent written and spoken English
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment

Strongly Preferred Experience with one or more of the following:

- International / cross-border bookkeeping
- ⁠E-commerce businesses
- ⁠Shopify or Amazon FBA, Stripe or other payment processors
- Multi-currency businesses
- Sales tax and nexus, VAT / GST / HST
- ⁠Foreign entity structures




- QuickBooks Online, Xero, and other accounting software

Compensation Base + Performance Pay. Compensation will be a combination of base pay and performance-based pay, depending on experience and jurisdiction. The total compensation opportunity can increase as you take on more responsibility, build client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the bookkeeping practice.

Please note: this is a globally remote position, and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and jurisdiction. Candidates with proven US experience and/or based in the US are preferred.
