Overview

Cottonwood Manor is a senior residential community located in Kamloops, BC. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Building Cleaner to join our housekeeping team.

This position requires a fixed schedule of 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday (30 hours per week). Please apply only if you are available to work these hours every week and you are committed to this schedule.

This role supports the cleanliness and hygiene of our community center, offices, and shared common areas. You will work as part of a supportive team to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities The Building Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of common areas, offices, and facility spaces. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Cleaning and sanitizing public washrooms, sinks, and related fixtures
- Emptying garbage and recycling containers and replacing liners
- Refilling paper products and sanitary supplies
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors in common areas
- Cleaning entrances and exterior areas immediately outside doors
- Cleaning common rooms and activity spaces
- Wiping and disinfecting doors, handles, desks, phones, office equipment, and other high‑touch surfaces
- Cleaning countertops, cabinets, and other surfaces in community and office areas
- Cleaning kitchen washrooms and floors
- Wiping counters, sinks, glass, railings, chair arms, and the information desk
- Washing cleaning cloths and mop heads
- Maintaining a clean and organized janitor room




- Refilling and monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting when restocking is needed
- This is a full time, permanent morning position, Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM during Summer and Spring and 7:00AM to 1:30PM during Fall and Winter, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Additional cleaning or related duties may be assigned as required to support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility.

Qualifications

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Physically able to stand, walk, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices

Experience

- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience

Compensation & Benefits

- Hourly wage $20-$23 to start
- Paid vacation
- 10 paid sick days per year
- No extended health benefits
