Position: Bus Driver

Campbell River Christian School (CRCS) is seeking a reliable and dedicated Bus Driver to join our team. This role plays a vital part in our school community by ensuring the protected and timely transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. As a Christian school, we seek individuals who reflect Christ’s love in their interactions and who are committed to supporting the mission and values of our school community.

This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of individuals.

Salary: $25.32 - $27.29/hour depending on experience.

Job Overview

Campbell River Christian School (CRCS) is seeking a reliable and dedicated Bus Driver to join our team. This role plays a vital part in our school community by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of individuals.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a bus on designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit, including conducting pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school staff.
- Educate passengers about safety protocols and bus etiquette.




- Assist children in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the bus by performing routine checks and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Document any incidents or issues that occur during transit and report them to the appropriate authorities.
- Foster a positive environment by being approachable and responsive to passenger needs.

Experience

- Possession of a valid BC Class 2 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
- Clean Driver’s Abstract with no major violations.
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Prior experience as a bus driver is preferred
- A commitment to the Christian faith and the values upheld by Campbell River Christian School.

Additional Information

- The start date is as soon as possible.
- Regular hours include morning and afternoon school runs, with opportunities for additional hours during field trips or extracurricular events.
