Job Title: Business Development Representative
Report to: Business Development Manager
Area of Operation: Edmonton
Compensation based on experience. Salary + Commission + Incentives
Job Summary The Business Development Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities and growing Wil-Tech's presence within their assigned territory.
The position focuses on identifying prospective customers, building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and connecting those needs with Wil-Tech's products, services, and technical capabilities.
The Business Development Representative will work closely with Sales, Service, Engineering, Distribution, and our supplier partners to develop opportunities and create long-term customer relationships.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities * Including but not limited to.
· Prospect and identify new customers, markets, projects, and business opportunities within the assigned territory.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through regular calls, meetings, site visits, and follow-up.
· Understand customer operations, challenges, and requirements to identify opportunities for Wil-Tech products and services.
· Promote Wil-Tech's complete range of capabilities, including fluid power products, hose and fittings, service and repair, field service, engineered solutions, and other company offerings.
· Develop sales opportunities from initial contact through quotation, follow-up, negotiation, and successful award.
· Work closely with Wil-Tech Sales, Engineering, Service, and Distribution personnel to develop effective customer solutions.
· Prepare and coordinate quotations for products, services,
and projects with support from internal departments where required.
· Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, activity, and follow-up information within Wil-Tech's CRM and business systems.
· Monitor market conditions, competitors, customer activity, and industry trends to identify opportunities and provide relevant market intelligence.
· Develop strong relationships with Wil-Tech's key suppliers and participate in joint customer calls, product initiatives, and business development activities.
· Establish and execute territory and account development plans to achieve established sales and growth objectives.
· Provide regular updates regarding sales activity, opportunities, pipeline, market conditions, and customer requirements.
· Maintain and continually develop technical knowledge of Wil-Tech's products, services, suppliers, and the fluid power industry.
· Represent Wil-Tech professionally at customer locations, industry events, trade shows, supplier meetings, and within the communities we serve.
Education and Experience * A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
· 2–3+ years of experience in industrial sales, business development, technical sales, or a related customer-facing role is preferred.
· Experience within fluid power, hydraulics, heavy equipment, agriculture, mining, oil & gas, manufacturing,
or industrial markets is considered a strong asset.
· Technical education or experience in hydraulics, mechanical systems, engineering technology, or a related trade is considered an asset.
· Wil-Tech will provide fluid power and product training to the successful candidate.

· Strong sales and relationship-building skills with a demonstrated ability to develop new business.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a territory and multiple opportunities.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the Wil-Tech team.
· Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
· Customer-focused with an ability to understand customer challenges and identify appropriate solutions.
· Technical aptitude and willingness to continually develop fluid power and industrial product knowledge.
· Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical, operational, and sales personnel.
· Robust computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CRM, and business management systems.
· Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and attend customer or industry events as required.
· Ability to understand, demonstrate, and promote Wil-Tech's Vision, Mission, Values, and QWEST+ culture.
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
