Duties
- Supervise daily coating operations, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to quality specifications
- Train new team members to perform coating tasks
- Maintain all required documentation related to the coating process
- Maintain the necessary coating equipment within the coating room such as lab equipment, tanks, and pumps.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste in coating operations
Skills and Qualifications
- Education:
Chemical Technologist Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree with two or more chemistry courses, or equivalent in post-secondary training and experience
- Training: Training is provided on the job, no specific experience is required. Fields which will benefit this position include basic laboratory work, physical labor, mechanical work, and junior supervision positions.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures and safety standards for working with coatings and related chemicals
- Excellent communication skills for supervising team members and collaborating across departments
