We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Child Care Custodian to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff within our childcare facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the childcare area, supporting daily facility maintenance, and creating a positive space where children can thrive. Your proactive approach to cleaning, facilities upkeep, and maintenance will help foster an inviting atmosphere that promotes well-being and comfort for all.

Duties

- Perform thorough cleaning of all childcare areas, including playrooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common spaces, following established sanitation protocols.
- Conduct routine commercial cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuum, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and waste disposal to uphold hygiene standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage areas, supplies, and equipment to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor repairs, and reporting larger issues promptly to ensure a protected environment.
- Support overall facilities upkeep by monitoring cleanliness.




- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or hazards within the childcare setting.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure that all areas meet health regulations and are conducive to a positive learning environment.
- Must have valid Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience

- Prior experience in cleaning or custodial roles preferred, especially within commercial or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining hygiene in environments with young children.
- Familiarity with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail while managing multiple cleaning duties efficiently.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
