R2R Property Care
Moncton
Roots 2 Rocks Property Care is hiring dependable Commercial Snow Shovellers for the upcoming winter season.
Our winter operation services a growing portfolio of commercial properties throughout Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview and surrounding areas.
This is a physically demanding outdoor position involving sidewalks, entrances, ramps, stairways and other areas that cannot be cleared using larger equipment. Some assigned properties contain multiple buildings, entrances and flights of stairs.
We are looking for reliable people who can work as part of a crew, maintain a steady pace and remain committed until the assigned route has been completed.
Previous snow-removal or outdoor labour experience is an asset, but we are willing to train someone who is dependable, physically capable and prepared to work.
Important Schedule and Availability Information:
This is a seasonal, weather-dependent, on-call position. Weekly hours will vary based on snowfall, storm duration and operational requirements. A minimum number of weekly hours cannot be guaranteed.
Snow and ice events can occur at any time, including:
- Days
- Nights
- Early mornings
- Weekends
- Holidays
Applicants must have dependable availability throughout the winter season. When scheduled for an event, employees must respond to company communications, report as required and remain available until their assigned route has been completed.
This position is not suitable for someone whose regular employment or other commitments would repeatedly prevent them from attending daytime, overnight, weekend or holiday snow events.
Attendance during confirmed snow-event call-outs is an essential requirement of this job.

- Transparent areas that cannot be reached safely with larger equipment
- Operate walk-behind snowblowers and other assigned snow-removal tools
- Scrape or break up packed snow and ice when required

- Re-clear priority areas during extended snow events
- Follow established routes and property-specific instructions
- Work efficiently as part of an assigned shovelling crew
- Maintain awareness of doors, vehicles, curbs, railings and property features
- Place snow only in approved locations
- Report hazards, property damage or equipment concerns immediately
- Keep tools and equipment organized and ready for the next event
- Communicate with Crew Leaders and supervisors throughout each event
- Follow company safety procedures and winter operating policies
Required Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be dependable and available when snow and ice events occur
- Be comfortable working overnight and during extended storm events
- Be physically capable of repetitive shovelling, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing stairs
- Be able to repeatedly lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
- Be prepared to work outdoors in cold temperatures, wind, blowing snow and low-visibility conditions
- Maintain a steady and productive working pace
- Work well as part of a crew
- Follow detailed instructions and property-specific route plans
- Communicate effectively with Crew Leaders and supervisors
- Treat company tools, vehicles and customer properties responsibly
- Have reliable transportation to the designated reporting location
- Have a reliable phone and remain reachable during snow events
- Be willing to complete pre-season orientation and training
A valid driver’s licence is a strong asset but is not required for every shovelling position, provided the employee has dependable transportation to the designated reporting location.
Probationary Period
All new employees begin with a probationary period. Attendance, availability, punctuality, communication, attitude, safety, productivity and quality of work will be evaluated during this time.
Successful completion of probation depends on consistently meeting the expectations of the position.
