Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Community Member Specialist, VCF, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members, guests, and community partners, providing exceptional service and support that fosters member satisfaction, engagement, and retention. You will coordinate communications, events, and programming, build meaningful relationships with community partners and stakeholders, and support the day-to-day operations of shared member spaces. As a highly visible front-line representative, you will welcome visitors, manage guest access to the building, and navigate challenging interactions using strong communication, conflict-resolution, and de-escalation skills.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-focused professional who is passionate about community engagement, member experience, and creating welcoming and inclusive environments.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity Community Foundation location and will report directly to the Manager, Community and Membership.
How You'll Make An Impact:
- Developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies and campaigns
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with members, neighbours, community organizations, and stakeholders
- Planning and executing events that encourage member engagement, networking, and community connection, including supporting event setup and teardown
- Facilitating programs and activities in partnership with community organizations and stakeholders
- Managing front desk operations, welcoming members and guests,
and supporting visitor access to the building
- Delivering warm, proactive, and solution-focused service that supports member satisfaction and retention
- Addressing member concerns, complaints, and challenging situations using effective conflict-resolution and de-escalation techniques
- Managing member use of shared spaces and supporting day-to-day operational activities that maintain a safe, professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Community Development, Business Administration, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in community engagement, member services, customer experience, communications, event coordination, or a related role
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders and community partners
- Experience planning and coordinating events, programs, or engagement activities
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and connect with a variety of audiences
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds as required for event setup, space management, and operational activities

- Experience working within a non-profit, community organization, or social-impact setting
- Experience managing shared community or coworking spaces
- Experience in conflict resolution, de-escalation, or managing member concerns in a front-line service environment

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $55,300 to $71,500 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package,
employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
