Bucci Construction Limited is seeking a qualified Construction Safety Officer to support health and safety across our active Calgary projects, including concrete high-rise construction. This role is central to maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work setting on site.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Superintendent and safety management, the CSO will implement and monitor our safety program on site, conduct inspections and training, and ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S; legislation and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement, monitor, and enforce the company Health & Safety program on site
- Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing crew training
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; complete documentation and corrective actions
- Maintain safety records, including training matrices,



inspections, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S; Act, Regulation, and Code
- Coordinate with subtrades to confirm safety compliance and documentation (e.g. safe work practices, SDS, hazard assessments)
- Monitor high-risk activities such as concrete forming, crane and hoisting operations, fall protection, and confined spaces
- Support emergency response planning and preparedness on site
- Promote a positive safety culture and act as a resource for site personnel

Required Skills & Experience

- Valid NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) or CSO designation, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer on commercial or high-rise construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta OH&S; legislation and COR requirements
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Familiarity with high-rise concrete construction hazards an asset
- Current certifications (e.g. Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, Confined Space); train-the-trainer certifications an asset
- Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and enforce standards firmly and fairly
