Roga Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced CPA to join our team as Controller. This is a key finance and management role supporting a diverse group of indigenous businesses with operations in forestry, heavy construction and major infrastructure work.

Roga Contracting Ltd is a 100% Indigenous-owned private company headquartered in Kamloops, BC. Since 1973, Roga has delivered forestry, civil construction, utility and major infrastructure projects across British Columbia on its own, or in partnership with various indigenous organizations. The Controller will provide financial reporting and forecasting, support operational decisions and provide clear, reliable information to management and the shareholder.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Roga Group chief accountant, the Controller will oversee core accounting and reporting functions, working closely with project and operations leaders. The role requires the provision of timely financial information to support sound decisions for the company, its subsidiaries and partner organizations. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys solving practical business problems, improving systems and building strong working relationships across departments.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead monthly and year-end close processes, including adjusting entries, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

· Oversee payroll, subcontractor payments, invoicing, accounts receivable and other day-to-day accounting activities.

· Partner with operations on project accounting, job costing, forecasts,



work-in-progress reporting and variance analysis.

· Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, management reports and ad hoc financial analysis.

· Maintain accurate equipment, intercompany and operational financial data.

· Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

· Coordinate with external auditors and support year-end reporting.

· Coach and support accounting and administrative staff.

· Assist with accounting software, reporting tools and system improvements.

Qualifications

· Must possess a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation in good standing.

· Strong technical accounting, financial reporting and analytical skills.

· Experience in project, cost or job accounting; construction, forestry, utilities or heavy equipment experience is an asset.

· Demonstrated ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines and communicate clearly with financial and non-financial colleagues.

· A practical, team-oriented leadership style and commitment to accurate, useful reporting.
