Convenience Store Lead – Downtown Calgary

Location: Downtown Calgary

Pay: Starting at $17 per hour, with a pay increase after 6–12 months

Position: Full-time

Hours: Fixed hours, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized person to help run our downtown convenience store and provide passport photo services.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys helping customers, keeps shelves stocked and organized, and takes pride in making sure the store runs smoothly. You should be comfortable working independently and noticing what needs to be done without waiting to be asked.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers warmly, provide helpful service, and build relationships with regular customers.
- Take, prepare, and print passport and ID photos, following photo requirements and quality standards.
- Guide customers through the photo process with patience and care.
- Operate the register and handle payments accurately.
- Keep shelves, coolers, and displays stocked, tidy, and properly labelled.
- Monitor inventory, identify low-stock items, and prepare replenishment orders for approval.
- Receive deliveries and check products against invoices.
- Rotate products, check expiry dates, and minimize waste.
- Keep the store, photo area, counter, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Handle customer concerns politely and professionally.
- Follow opening, closing, cash-handling, and security procedures.




- Keep the owner updated on stock needs, equipment issues, and opportunities to improve the store.

What We’re Looking For

- At least 1–2 years of retail, convenience store, grocery, or similar experience.
- A warm, respectful attitude toward customers.
- Robust reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Experience with stocking, inventory, and cash handling.
- Comfort using computers and learning camera and printing equipment.
- Someone who takes initiative and follows through.
- Ability to work independently and stay productive during quieter periods.
- Previous passport photography, keyholder, or supervisory experience is an asset.
