Cook – Full-Time, 1-Year Term (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Pay: $25.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Location: 1188 Esquimalt Road, Victoria, BC The Renaissance is a locally owned independent retirement residence in Esquimalt. We provide our residents with freshly prepared meals in a comfortable, welcoming dining environment where great food and personal service are an important part of daily life.

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team for a one-year maternity leave position.

Working alongside our Head Chef, Hernando, you’ll prepare and serve high-quality meals for our residents while maintaining our standards for presentation, portion control, consistency and timing.

One of the biggest advantages of cooking at The Renaissance is the schedule. There are no late nights or early mornings, and you'll have consistent, predictable hours each week. The kitchen opens at 11 AM and closes at 7:15 PM.

You'll work with quality ingredients, established menus and a consistent number of residents rather than the unpredictability and late-night hours of a traditional restaurant kitchen.

- Has professional cooking experience
- Is confident working independently and as part of a small kitchen team
- Takes pride in food quality and presentation
- Is organized, dependable and maintains a clean and protected kitchen
- Enjoys cooking for and interacting with seniors and staff
- Can contribute ideas while working within established menus and standards
