Duties

- Reduce barriers to youth accessing necessary mental health and ancillary services

- Serve youth under the jurisdiction of the Youth Justice Court

- Provide community-based services that are time-limited and support referral to other services where the young person’s needs go beyond a youth justice sentence

- Provide services that are clinically focused, individualized, based on assessed needs, and evidence-based

- Adhere to the Policy and Procedures Manual of the agency, Ministry and program standards

- Present as an appropriate role model to staff and clients

- Represent the organization professionally at all times in the community and in court settings

- Participate in continual career development by engaging in skill training activities, workshops, and conferences
- To liaise with social agencies, families, and other persons or organizations as required
- To demonstrate knowledge of various community agency resources and how to provide linkages




- To perform any other relevant tasks/projects as informed by the Manager of Youth Justice & Specialized Education, or the Executive Director

Qualifications:

- Preference will be given to a person with a social sciences background at the university level, such as Social Work, Criminology, Psychology, or a similar program.

- Demonstrated fluency in English and French is considered an asset

- Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience in the field of Youth Justice preferred.

- Understanding of at-risk and high-risk youth is necessary.

- Bilingualism would be considered an asset

- Demonstrated experience across the sectors of youth justice, child welfare, and education

- Police Record Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening is required. NVCI, CPR, First Aid Certificate, immunization record, medical and a valid Ontario Class "G" driver’s license and a Clean Driver’s Abstract are required

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
