Position Summary

Reporting to the Dangerous Goods Manager, the Dangerous Goods Coordinator is a key role responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable dangerous goods regulations and procedures. Based in YWG, and working closely with the DG Manager, the Coordinator provides essential support across the network to maintain safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance related to the Dangerous Goods program.

This position requires a proactive, committed and flexible individual with a strong focus on safety and collaboration to support operational excellence in dangerous goods transportation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure DG shipments comply with ICAO, IATA, Transport Canada regulations, and company policies before transport, including remote acceptances.
- Review Dangerous Goods Declarations and related documents for accuracy, completeness and adherence to applicable regulations and policies.
- Provide guidance and refresh formal training for team members.
- Maintain proper communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Build in-depth knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations and procedures.
- Act as the primary internal expert for DG Hotline and DG Experts email group.
- Coordinate tasks within the DG expert group to optimize efficiency.
- Perform DG audits to ensure accurate system information.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all dangerous goods shipments, including acceptance checklists and Dangerous Goods Declarations.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure safe and efficient handling of dangerous goods shipments during loading, unloading, and storage processes.
- Assist the DG Manager in investigations when required.




- Stay updated on changes in dangerous goods regulations and contribute to process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and authorizations.
- Completion of all mandatory DG-related training is required.
- Current or prior Dangerous Goods certification or course completion is considered an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of current Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of cargo, ramp, and customer service operations is an asset.
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephones
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions.
- Various shifts and at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
