SALARY: Job Class 23 ($81,542 - $93,249) *market adjusted
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This position has the option to participate in a modified work week schedule (37.5 hours/week) Monday to Friday, with the extra hours worked as one earned day off taken once every three-week scheduled cycle.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position is pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights through interactive and visual representations. The responsibilities include defining and validating data elements and structures, developing subject area models, and maintaining data architecture across multiple systems. In addition, this role is responsible for producing and maintaining various value-add Business Intelligence reports.
The following job duties are illustrative examples and shall not be construed as an exhaustive description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
DUTIES:
1. DESIGN, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN NEW AND EXISTING DATA ASSETS
1. Define and validate data elements and data structures;
2. Develop subject area models.
3. Maintain data architecture artifacts for multiple systems
4. Define and maintain data lineage charts for the organization.
5. Collect, process, and perform analyses on metadata
6. Analyzes data to provide actionable insights and support business decisions.
7. Define and maintain ETL scripts to load data into data warehouse.
2) DELIVER VALUE-ADD BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE REPORTS
1. Work with stakeholders to elicit requirements, and develop functional and technical specifications
2. Design, develop, test and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, using software life cycle.
3. Work closely with various team members on multiple concurrent projects.
4. Use advanced analytics, artificial intelligence /machine learning, and statistical methods to extract insights from data.
5. Translate complex data findings into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
6. Use statistical methods and tools to analyze data and identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
7. Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external sources.
8. Create visualizations, dashboards,
and reports to present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
9. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
3) MAINTAIN AND AUGMENT LABC BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM AND, APPLY BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SOFTWARE:
1. Provide input into and maintenance of the centralized reporting strategy for LABC;
2. Maintain and adjust existing reports as business requirements change;
3. Recommend system changes and identify data integrity issues to improve the quality and availability of data for management decision-making;
4. Use business intelligence tools to design and build reports, develop cubes and dashboards to support business initiatives;
5. Perform testing and document BI solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
2. Minimum three (3) years’ related experience as outlined in rated requirements including strategic initiative project management, process and performance improvement, data analytics and reporting metrics required.
3. Advanced working knowledge of reporting systems (such as SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports and/or Micro strategy)
4. Advanced level in MS Excel
5. Minimum 2 years’ work experience using Power BI
6. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Data warehouse and ETL tools
7. Familiarity with Cloud technologies
8. Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence
9. Technical competencies:
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and design capability and high proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Proficiency with data visualization software, preferably Power BI as well as HTML skills preferred.
- Ability to apply data governance, data management, privacy and information security measures in various stages of the data lifecycle.
- Fluent in hybrid working environment and leveraging Zoom and Microsoft Teams to collaborate and engage with peers and develop initiatives.

9. Ability to strategically maintain financial/budgetary information.
10. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
11. Experience working with labour market data, census data, demographic data and other related industry data.
12. Ability to apply data governance,
data management, privacy and information security measures in various stages of the data lifecycle.
13. Ability to interpret, translate and visualize data and complex concepts into concise and engaging messaging, to inform business decisions.
14. Proven track record of defining new data collection and analysis processes to increase efficiencies or effectiveness of reporting.
15. Demonstrate a high degree of critical thinking, identifying patterns, trends or abnormalities.
16. Demonstrated commitment to respectful, inclusive, and ethical use of data, including openness to learning about Truth and Reconciliation, anti-racism, accessibility, and equity considerations in data analysis and reporting.
17. Experience or training in demographic data analysis, GBA Plus, Indigenous data governance or data sovereignty, privacy, and equity-informed reporting is considered an asset.
18. Understanding of current issues affecting Indigenous communities.
19. Proven track record with strong written and oral communication, analytical skills, presentation and project management skills; high level of attention to detail and accuracy; ability to routinely manage and integrate large data sets, required.
20. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently while collaborating effectively at all levels of the organization.
21. Strong problem solving and exceptional client services both internal and external skills.
22. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, always looking for efficiencies and embedding continuous improvement throughout the work.
23. Proven ability to synthesize analyses from qualitative and quantitative data sets and design and generate impactful reports.
24. Genuine commitment to LABC’s mandate.
25. Working experience with Micro strategy and SSIS is an asset
26. Experience with MS SQL Server is an asset
27. Experience in Dimensional modelling is an asset
28. Knowledge of LABC policies and procedures an asset
