Dental Assistant – Part-Time

We’re hiring a reliable second Dental Assistant to join our family dental team part-time, Monday - Friday at Fonthill Marketplace Dental.

The ideal candidate likes to multi-task and get things done behind the scenes. Their role will be to support our current dental assistant, flip rooms, run sterilization, competently assist chairside, and support the clinical flow of the dental office. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are essential.

Experience working as a dental assistant is preferred, but ambitious recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Weekdays only. Some evening availability is required. Start date is flexible.

The role:

- Weekdays only
- Some evenings required
- Hourly Wage: $25.00 – $29.00 / hour

What you’ll do:

- Help set up and tear down treatment space for procedures
- Assist the dentist chairside for diagnostic, restorative, surgical, and orthodontic procedures, as needed
- Take dental x-rays, impressions, intraoral photos and digital scans, as needed
- Run sterilization, keep instruments clean and organized for the team throughout the day
- Track and log sterilization data in compliance with IPAC and regulatory standards, perform tests as required




- Maintain dental instruments, equipment, operatories, and clinical spaces before, during and after dental treatment
- Prepare thorough clinical documentation and meticulous patient records
- Monitor and organize clinical inventory and supplies
- Communicate with the doctor and team to keep schedules running efficiently
- Perform other related duties as needed

What we’re looking for:

- Post-secondary certificate from an accredited Dental Assistant program or currently completing one
- Strong communication, meticulous organization, and documentation skills
- CPR/First Aid certification or currently completing one
- HARP certification or currently completing one

Our practice is completely digital, so strong computer skills are important. Dentrix, iTero or other dental software experience is an asset.
