Developmental Services Worker (DSW) - Complex Care

Our clients are remarkable individuals seeking individualized support at home and in the community. They may be living with developmental disabilities, complex medical needs, behavioural challenges, the impacts of trauma, or other circumstances that affect their daily functioning, independence, and participation in everyday life.

As a Developmental Services Worker (DSW) – Complex Care, you will provide one-to-one support based on each client's unique needs, abilities, goals, and care plan. Support may include:

- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene support as required.
- Supporting client safety and wellbeing during home- and community-based activities.
- Providing behavioural support, redirection, and assistance with emotional or behavioural regulation.
- Supporting clients who may experience elopement or other safety-related concerns.
- Engaging clients in meaningful and functional activities that encourage independence, skill development, and community participation.
- Supporting routines,



organization, meal preparation, transportation, emotional wellbeing, and other day-to-day needs.
- Following individualized strategies and approaches established by the client's care team, family, or regulated healthcare professionals where applicable.

Every client and position is unique. Some clients may require primarily developmental and community-based support, while others may have more complex behavioural, personal care, medical, or safety needs. Your role is to meet each person where they are and provide respectful, consistent, and person-centred support that helps them participate as fully and independently as possible in their daily lives. You would be a great fit with Spark if you are compassionate, dependable, organized, confident working independently, and comfortable adapting your approach to the needs of the individual you are supporting. Above all, we are looking for people who genuinely care about the wellbeing, dignity, safety, and goals of the people they support.

Requirements:

- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Smartphone with a data plan
- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 months

Assets:

- Developmental Services Worker diploma or university/college education in a related field
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, complex care needs, behavioural challenges, or mental health needs
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), CPI, or similar training
- Valid G class driver's licence with access to a reliable vehicle

Hours: Flexible and client dependent scheduling options are available.





Caregiver has full autonomy in organizing and managing their schedule and availability based on client matches.

Rate of Pay:

$23-$28/hour
