About Us

The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to helping our students achieve their academic goals by providing to the Western community an array of integrated student-related services in a confidential and professional setting. The Recruitment and Communications team, within the Office of the Registrar aims to provide the Best Student Experience to prospective students from the initial point of interest in undergraduate programs at Western, through the information gathering, application processes and continue to provide best experience in their student journey at Western.

Responsibilities

As a Digital Communications Ambassador, you'll be the student voice behind Western's recruitment and current student communications for the Office of the Registrar. Working in the OOR Communications team, you'll shape how Western shows up in inboxes, on social feeds, and across digital platforms. You'll create digital content that is on-trend and professional — ultimately helping prospective students see themselves here, or support current students.

What You'll Do

Content Creation & Digital Communications

- Create social media content using Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms
- Contribute to email campaigns — reviewing content, drafting copy, and helping shape messaging tailored to the audience




- Publish and update web content using a content management system (CMS), including on welcome.uwo.ca, registrar.uwo.ca and virtualtour.uwo.ca
- Monitor online platforms and engage with student questions

Team Contribution

- Bring fresh, student-informed ideas to the Communications team for campaigns, content series, and digital engagement initiatives
- Represent Western professionally and authentically across every interaction

Qualifications

Education:

- Must be a full time student at Western (enrolled in minimum 3.5 courses), and expect to retain full-time student status for the duration of this appointment

Experience, Skills & Strengths:

- Passionate about Western and genuinely excited to help future students find their place here
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: you write clearly, warmly, and in your own voice
- Comfortable working across digital tools and platforms; familiarity with social media such as Instagram and TikTok, and interested in trends
- Experience with or curiosity about Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing, or CMS tools is a bonus
- Organized, reliable, and self-directed — you can manage your own schedule and meet deadlines without being chased
- Able to connect with students and families from a wide range of backgrounds
