Director of Finance – Contract

About the role the Finance Group is recruiting an experienced Interim Director of Finance for a non-profit client in London, Ontario.

This individual will provide senior finance leadership during a period of organizational transition, ensuring continuity of the finance function while supporting the organization with financial oversight, team leadership, and preparation for longer-term finance transformation.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and oversight of the finance function.
- Partner with senior leadership, the Finance Committee, and Board on financial matters.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, month-end, and year-end activities.
- Maintain continuity of finance operations throughout the leadership transition.
- Review existing financial processes, controls, and reporting practices.
- Identify immediate operational risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and support the existing finance team.
- Support knowledge transfer and assess future finance team requirements.




- Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Support the transition to a permanent Director of Finance.

What We’re Looking For

- Senior finance leadership experience at the Director of Finance, Controller, or similar level.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and operational finance experience.
- Experience leading finance teams through transition or organizational change.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, processes, and risk management.
- Comfortable working with senior leadership, Finance Committees, and Boards.
- Hands-on, adaptable, and able to quickly assess priorities in a changing setting.
- Previous non-profit experience would be considered an asset.
