District Elementary School Counsellor qathet School District invites applications from qualified teachers for a temporary (1.00 FTE) District School Counsellor Teacher position starting as soon as possible.

The District serves the educational needs of approximately 3000 students through elementary and secondary (Gr. 8-12) schools and other educational programs and employs approximately 400 staff.

Qualifications

- Completion of a Bachelor of Education
- Masters degree in School Counselling or Counselling Psychology
- Membership in or eligible to become a member of the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
- Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS)




- Knowledge of diverse student needs and inclusive practices
- Ability to support the delivery of prevention and wellness programs
- Ability to support and collaborate with School-Based Teams
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in counselling children and youth and consulting with school staff and parents
- Awareness of community-based programs and services for students and families in the District and community, including other counselling services
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Salary The annual salary for teaching positions range from $63,257 to $112,806, with placement on the grid based on length of service, qualifications and FTE, in accordance with the collective agreement.
