As a Technical Expert, Engineering - EWIS Integrator, you will act as a technical authority, shape design strategy, and lead enterprise-level technical alignment and capability development. Your work will focus on the physical integration of electrical wiring interconnection systems, including 3D harness definition, components, supports, interfaces, and installation compliance.
What will be your contributions to the team?
EWIS Design and Integration
- Develop and review 3D proposals for EWIS harnesses, routing, supports, component locations, assemblies, as well as installation and detail drawings.
- Support the selection and integration of EWIS components, connectors, backshells, clamps, supports, conduits, and protective devices.
- Apply applicable rules for separation and segregation, clearance, bend radius, support spacing, accessibility, maintainability, and environmental conditions.
Electrical and Physical Interface Coordination
- Coordinate 3D installation with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness definition, equipment interfaces, and aircraft zone constraints.
- Work closely with harness manufacturers, electrical systems, structures, loads and stress, interiors, methods, manufacturing, thermodynamics, safety, electromagnetic effects specialists, mass properties, and other relevant functions.
- Resolve routing conflicts, interface discrepancies, installation sequencing issues, and manufacturability concerns with internal teams and partners.
Maturity, Compliance, and Support
- Review EWIS layouts, installations, assemblies, and detailed definitions to ensure compliance with applicable design and certification requirements.
- Provide technical solutions to design, manufacturing, supplier, testing, and service issues, including root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Manage design changes, assess technical, cost, schedule, mass, and risk impacts, and maintain configuration data within the applicable PLM environment.
Role-Specific Contribution
- Act as the discipline’s technical authority for the most complex or high-impact integration issues.
- Guide architecture and design strategy, resolve cross-functional technical risks, and provide authoritative recommendations to management.
- Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and external technical alignment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant discipline,
depending on the position.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or a related industry.
Technical Knowledge
- EWIS installation, 3D harness definition, and component integration.
- Separation and segregation rules, bend radii, support spacing, protection, accessibility, and environmental constraints.
- Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness manufacturing, installation, and inspection.
- EWIS certification principles, technical drawings, configuration management, and mass management.
Tools and Methods
- CATIA V5, including applicable electrical workbenches, ENOVIA, and the MS Office suite; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
- Knowledge of PLM processes, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management processes appropriate to the level.

- Sound judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and accountability.

Languages
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
- French is an asset.
