Job Summary - Calgary/Alberta | Oil & Gas Reclamation & Environmental Services

We are seeking an experienced environmental and reclamation skilled interested in helping build and lead a new Alberta-based environmental services company focused primarily on the oil and gas industry.

This is not a conventional job-posting for employment. We are looking for an experienced and entreprenurial environmental and reclamation industry professional who is interested in starting their own company and can provide the technical and operational leadership necessary to build the environmental and reclamation side of the business. We intend to partner with you to provide the initial business infrastructure, legal/commercial expertise and certain startup capital.

As such, the salary range posted on this ad is indicative in nature only.

The Opportunity The successful candidate would work directly with the founder to develop the business from the ground up, including:

- developing the company's environmental and reclamation service offering and relationships for new contracts;
- identifying and pursuing oil and gas reclamation opportunities;
- assessing projects and developing scopes of work, budgets and proposals;
- managing environmental and reclamation projects throughout Alberta;
- building relationships with producers, landowners, regulators, subcontractors and other industry participants;
- recruiting and managing technical and field personnel as the business grows;
- determining appropriate equipment, subcontracting and operational requirements;




- establishing technical procedures and quality-control systems; and
- ultimately building and leading the company's environmental services division.

Potential services may include pre-disturbance assessments, environmental site assessments, remediation and reclamation programs, detailed site assessments, reclamation certificate applications, environmental monitoring, regulatory applications and related oil and gas environmental services. Who We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in someone with:

- 10+ years of Alberta oil and gas environmental, remediation or reclamation experience;
- significant hands-on experience taking oil and gas sites through assessment, remediation, reclamation and/or closure;
- strong knowledge of Alberta's environmental and reclamation regulatory framework;
- experience preparing or supervising Phase I/II ESAs, DSAs, reclamation programs and reclamation certificate applications;
- experience managing projects, field personnel and subcontractors;
- an established network within Alberta's oil and gas/environmental sector;
- the ability to scope and price work and communicate directly with clients; and
- an entrepreneurial interest in helping build a company rather than simply filling an existing position.

A relevant environmental science, biology, agrology, engineering or related technical background is preferred. Relevant professional designations and eligibility to sign or authenticate applicable professional work would be a significant asset.

Compensation Structure

Possible structures include salary,



consulting compensation, performance-based compensation, equity participation, or a combination of these arrangements.

This is not a conventional employment-based role. As such, the job responsibilities and time requirements may slowly ramp up and therefore be casual and/or part time at first. Those who are looking for a 9am-5pm schedule with a set salary and benefit structure will not be excited about this opportunity.
