Job Overview

This role is primarily field-based and involves participating in and leading environmental investigations, inspections, and remediation programs. Based out of our Woodstock office, the successful candidate will support a wide range of projects across Ontario. Main responsibility is leading field-scale in-situ remediation programs (including chemical injection technologies such as ISCO and ISCR).

Key responsibilities include supporting Phase I and II ESAs, landfill monitoring, designated substance surveys, and indoor air quality investigations.

Responsibilities

- Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Lead field-scale chemical injection programs (ISCO, ISCR, and bioremediation amendments) including batching chemistry and operating injection manifolds/pumps
- Perform groundwater and soil delineation and remediation activities
- Conduct excavations, landfill monitoring, DSS, IAQ, and mould inspections
- Collect and document soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapour, and air samples
- Assess contamination levels and evaluate environmental site conditions
- Survey and measure groundwater elevations
- Design and/or follow established methodologies for environmental sampling and analysis
- Implement quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols
- Prepare detailed field notes and maintain accurate records
- Input borehole logs and well records
- Assist in preparing technical reports and creating maps/figures using AutoCAD
- Support Project Managers with reporting, invoicing, and project coordination
- Execute all procedures in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering,



Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant field experience (consulting experience preferred)
- 3 years of experience with environmental remediation using chemical injections.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations in Ontario, specifically MECP guidelines and O.Reg. 153/04
- Direct experience operating chemical injection setups, pressurized pumping systems, and low-flow sampling equipment
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Strong record keeping and remediation tracking while completing projects.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license with a clean abstract and willingness to travel frequently to the GTA

Preferred Skills

- Advanced experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments under Ontario Regulation 153/04
- Knowledge of standards set by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP)
- Proven familiarity with groundwater monitoring networks and in-situ remediation technologies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to safely manage multiple field assignments and subcontractors
- HAZWOPER certification is considered an asset
- Certification or eligibility for registration as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.), Skilled Engineer (P.Eng.), or similar designation is considered an asset
