GTA General Contractors is seeking an Estimator / Estimating Coordinator to support our Pre-Construction and Estimating team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field, or someone with approximately 1–3 years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or construction.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Estimating Manager on commercial and industrial construction opportunities, while also developing the skills to independently price smaller projects and eventually larger projects as their experience progresses

Key Responsibilities

- Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and consultant drawings to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare and issue RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers for tender opportunities.
- Follow up with trades to obtain competitive and complete quotations.
- Track key tender dates, RFQ deadlines, addenda, closing dates, and outstanding pricing to ensure estimates remain on schedule.
- Review subcontractor quotations for scope coverage, exclusions, qualifications, and potential gaps.
- Assist with bid leveling, scope comparisons, quantity take-offs, and estimate preparation.
- Maintain organized estimating files, trade lists, quotations,



and tender documentation.
- Independently prepare estimates for smaller commercial projects as experience develops.
- Support the Estimating Manager with pricing, tender submissions, clarifications, budgeting, and other pre-construction activities.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Science, or a related discipline.
- Recent graduate or approximately 1–3 years of construction industry experience in estimating, project coordination, or a similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow-ups.
- Comfortable communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Solid attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general construction software; experience with estimating software and Procore is an asset.

Pay: $55,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
