Company Description The Cohere Centre is Ottawa’s largest purpose-built convention and event facility, offering over 200,000 square feet of flexible exhibition and meeting space. Located next to Ottawa International Airport at 4899 Uplands Drive, the Centre hosts a wide range of events, including federal government meetings, corporate conferences, association gatherings, consumer expos, and large public shows. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Event Coordinator located in Ottawa, ON.
The Event
Coordinator will main point of contact between the Centre's clients and the EY Centre's internal teams to ensuring seamless coordination of logistics and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include client communication, working with vendors, handling event timelines and budgets, and providing in office support during events.
The role also includes contributing to sales efforts by promoting the facility's services and amenities to potential clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited:
- Communicating, maintaining and developing client relationships
- Responsible for client requirements
- Answering incoming calls
- Managing & scheduling part-time and temporary staff
- Responding promptly to inquires
- Following up with clients
- Conducting site visits
- Coordinating menus, floor plans & suppliers
- Preparing event orders
- Liaising with the service partners
- Basic marketing and social media
- General administration duties
- Preparing Reports
- Supporting management in daily operation
Qualifications
- Experience in Event Planning and Event Management
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Bilingual (FR/EN) an asset
- Sales experience, including promoting and marketing services
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Proficiency in working within deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with the event venue or hospitality industry is an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in event management or a related field is preferred
