Position Overview:

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall tidiness of the Diros Technology Inc. facility, including office areas, manufacturing/production areas, washrooms, lunch/break areas, the shipping and receiving area, and the immediate exterior vicinity of the building. This role directly supports a safe, compliant, and professional working environment consistent with Diros's obligations under ISO 13485 and applicable Ontario health and safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean and sanitize washrooms daily, including replenishing soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies; report any plumbing or fixture issues promptly.
- Clean and maintain lunchrooms/break areas, including tables, countertops, sinks, microwaves, refrigerators (exterior), and floors.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors throughout office and production areas on a scheduled basis, following any facility-specific protocols for controlled or classified production zones.
- Empty and reline waste and recycling bins throughout the facility, including production, office, washroom, and lunch areas, and transport waste to designated disposal/collection points.
- Clean and maintain the shipping and receiving area, including sweeping/mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and keeping walkways and dock areas free of debris.
- Maintain the immediate exterior vicinity of the building (entrances, walkways, and designated areas), including litter pickup, and seasonal tasks such as sweeping and basic snow/ice clearing of entryways as required.
- Clean glass doors, partitions,



and windows in common and reception areas.
- Dust and wipe down office furniture, workstations (exterior surfaces only), shelving, and common equipment.
- Restock consumable supplies (paper products, soap, sanitizer, garbage liners) in designated stations throughout the facility.
- Follow all Diros health and safety, WHMIS, and quality procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment, including proper labelling, storage, and use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Comply with any gowning, hygiene, or restricted-access requirements when cleaning within production or controlled areas.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility deficiencies to the Plant Manager or designate in a timely manner.
- Perform other general housekeeping and light facilities-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Previous janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience is an asset, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe chemical handling practices (WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain, is required).
- Able to operate light tools and machinery related to the role. Training will be provided.
- Ability to read and follow safety data sheets, cleaning schedules, and basic written instructions in English.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Available to work overtime and occasional weekends.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies, and waste receptacles, up to approximately 23 kg (50 lbs), in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, production-area conditions, and seasonal outdoor conditions when maintaining exterior entryways.
- Work is performed across office, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and outdoor entryway areas of the facility.
