Role Summary:

Our Burnaby BC branch is looking for a Fire Technician (CET) to carry out the installation, verification, repair, maintenance, programming and inspection of life safety systems on all sizes of projects. Our CET Fire Technicians are our most experienced Fire Technicians.

This is an unionized position, and the successful candidate must be eligible to join the Local IBEW 213 Union

Job Responsibilities:

- Attend and complete scheduled fire system verifications, service calls, emergency repairs and inspections.
- Communicate in a timely fashion with the customer, and ensures that customer satisfaction is met.
- Complete various reports and documents related to work performed.
- Complete verifications of fire alarm systems as per Can/ULC S537-04.
- Complete inspections of fire alarm systems as per Can/ULC S536-04.
- Complete fire extinguisher inspections as per NFPA-10.
- Complete annual emergency lightning inspections as per the BCFC.




- Must be able to complete all job functions of all Fire Technician roles in BC.
- Ability to train Service Technicians and Helpers on the job.
- Meet all CBA requirements for the role.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an electronics field or a related discipline, including at least 2-3 years of experience inspecting and servicing fire alarm systems.
- Two year community college graduate in electronics (or equivalent)
- Possess a valid Provincial Driver’s License.
- Edwards panel EST 3 and EST 4 Certification required
- ASTT qualifications in Fire Alarms, Extinguishers, and Emergency Lighting
- CFAA certification will be considered with a goal of ASTT certification within two years
- Excellent computer skills
- Good communication skills
