Canuel Caterers is looking for a reliable, organized and detail-oriented Food Production & Meal Preparation Cook to join our commissary kitchen team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy production kitchen and takes pride in accuracy, organization and consistency. You will be responsible for portioning and preparing up to 180 meals per day, along with preparing sandwiches and bagged lunches.
Responsibilities
- Portion and package up to 180 meals per day according to detailed order requirements
- Work with batch-cooked food prepared by our kitchen team, with some cooking and food preparation required
- Prepare sandwiches, bagged lunches and other meal components
- Carefully follow order spreadsheets and daily production requirements
- Follow strict dietary restrictions and meal specifications
- Ensure all meals are prepared, portioned and packaged accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work area
- Follow all food safety and kitchen procedures
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
What We're Looking For
- Previous professional kitchen experience is required
- Valid FoodSafe Certificate
- Strong attention to detail — this is essential
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
- Comfortable reading and understanding order spreadsheets
- Robust understanding of the importance of following dietary restrictions and meal specifications
- Reliable and dependable with excellent attendance
- Able to read and speak English
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a kitchen team
- Able to work efficiently in a production kitchen environment
