About Food Bike Tour

Food Bike Tour has been creating memorable local experiences in Edmonton since 2016. We connect guests with local restaurants, neighbourhoods, culture and stories while supporting the businesses that make our communities unique.

We work with more than 85 local partners across Alberta and are passionate about supporting local businesses, showcasing our cities and creating experiences that guests remember long after the tour is over. A portion of our proceeds also supports CASA Mental Health.

We are currently looking for an outgoing and dependable Food Walk Tour Guide / Tour Motivator to join our Edmonton team.

The Role

This is not just a walking tour where you lead people from restaurant to restaurant.

Our Tour Motivators are the face of the experience.

You will guide guests through some of Edmonton’s most interesting neighbourhoods while sharing stories about the city, its history, architecture, murals, public art, local businesses and community.

Along the way, guests will visit locally owned restaurants and food businesses to enjoy different dishes and learn more about the people behind them.

We are looking for someone who can make a group feel welcome, comfortable and engaged while keeping the tour organized and running on schedule.

What You’ll Do

- Lead Food Walk Tours in Edmonton on Saturdays
- Welcome and check in guests at the beginning of the tour
- Share interesting stories about Edmonton’s history, neighbourhoods, murals, public art and local culture
- Introduce guests to our restaurant and local business partners




- Talk about the businesses, their owners and the stories behind each location
- Keep guests engaged while walking between food stops
- Answer questions professionally and enthusiastically
- Communicate with restaurant partners throughout the tour
- Keep the tour running according to schedule
- Be aware of dietary restrictions and guest needs
- Take photos and short videos of guests throughout the experience
- Encourage guests to share their experience and leave a review
- Provide excellent customer service from beginning to end
- Communicate with management after every tour and report any guest concerns, incidents or issues that require follow-up

Who We’re Looking For You would be a great fit if you:
- Are outgoing, friendly and comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Enjoy meeting people from Edmonton, across Canada and around the world
- Have an interest in Edmonton’s history, food scene, neighbourhoods, murals, culture and local businesses
- Are a robust storyteller and can make information interesting rather than simply memorizing a script
- Are reliable and punctual
- Have strong communication skills
- Can confidently lead and manage a group
- Are comfortable walking for several hours
- Can think on your feet when plans change
- Take pride in providing exceptional customer service




- Understand that small details can make a big difference to a guest’s experience
- Are available on Saturdays

Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, restaurants, customer service, public speaking, teaching, acting or event hosting is an asset, but the right personality and attitude are extremely important to us.

Schedule

This is a casual, part-time position primarily on Saturdays.

Tours are generally several hours long, with additional time required before the tour for preparation and guest check-in.

Availability may vary depending on bookings.
