Freelance Learning Content Developer

About the Role
We are looking for a freelance Learning Content Developer to transform existing source materials into clear, well-structured, and engaging learning.
Working in collaboration with an internal Learning and Development professional, the freelancer will apply instructional design principles and development expertise to create learner-friendly content and engaging experiences using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
The ideal candidate combines strong content development and instructional design skills with hands-on experience in Articulate Storyline and Rise and is comfortable working independently while following established guidelines and incorporating feedback.
This is a contract-based, project-by-project opportunity.
Key Responsibilities The Learning Content Developer will:
- Review and work with existing source materials and subject matter content.
- Organize and structure content into logical topics, modules,
and lessons.
- Support the development of clear learning objectives and learner-focused content.
- Transform complex or text-heavy content into clear, engaging, and easy-to-follow learning experiences.
- Develop complete, engaging lessons in Articulate Storyline and Rise applying established instructional design multimedia principles.
- Use appropriate visuals, interactions, scenarios, examples, and other learning activities to support learner engagement.
- Revise content based on feedback.
- Conduct basic quality assurance before submitting work for review.
- Collaborate with the internal Learning and Development professional on requirements, key decisions, and reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing corporate and professional adult learning content.
- Strong experience using Articulate 360, particularly Rise 360 and/or Storyline 360.
- Ability to organize, simplify, and structure complex or text-heavy content.
- Knowledge and application of instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Ability to create engaging learning using a combination of content, visuals, interactions, and knowledge checks.
- Strong written English and communication skills.
- Good visual judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following established requirements, guidelines, and incorporating feedback.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills and professional work ethics.
