Role Description The French Tutor role is a part-time, hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some flexibility to work from home. The tutor will provide one-on-one and small-group French instruction, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for learners at different levels. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans, delivering engaging in-person and online sessions, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to individual needs and learning styles.

The role also involves communicating regularly with students (and, where applicable, parents or guardians),



providing constructive feedback, and supporting students in achieving their academic and language-learning goals. The tutor will collaborate with Maple Study Link staff to align tutoring approaches with broader academic advising services.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated skills in French Teaching and Tutoring, with experience supporting learners at various proficiency levels.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to build rapport, explain concepts clearly, and motivate students.
- Ability to conduct Online Tutoring sessions effectively using virtual platforms and digital learning tools.
- Proficiency in French (near-native or native level) and solid command of written and spoken English.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instructional approaches to different learning needs.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to plan lessons, track progress, and manage a part-time schedule.
- Post-secondary education in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian school curricula or language proficiency exams (e.g., DELF/DALF, TEF) is beneficial.
