Front-End Manager and Customer Service Representative - Maison Fresh

Maison Fresh is an independent fresh-produce and prepared-food shop inside Toronto's St. Lawrence Market at 93 Front Street East. We are hiring one full-time front-end lead to deliver excellent customer service and help keep daily store operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on retail role: you will work at the register and with customers, not just supervise from an office.

Pay: $19-$20 per hour, depending on relevant experience.

Schedule: Five days per week, including Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may include opening and closing. This is an in-person position.

What you will do

- Greet customers, answer product questions, and resolve routine service concerns professionally.
- Operate the POS, handle cash and card payments accurately, and help with end-of-day cash reconciliation.
- Coordinate front-end priorities during shifts and help train and support coworkers.
- Maintain attractive fresh-produce and packaged-food displays; restock and rotate products.
- Support opening, closing, cleanliness, and food-safety procedures.




- Communicate clearly with the owners about customer needs, stock issues, and shift handoffs.

What we are looking for
- Substantial cashier and customer-service experience in a grocery store, produce market, specialty food shop, or similar retail-food setting.
- Experience leading shifts, training coworkers, or taking responsibility for front-end operations.
- Robust POS and cash-handling skills, sound judgment, and a calm approach during busy periods.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and clear communication.
- Comfort standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lb as part of normal store work.
- Produce knowledge and a Food Handler Certificate are assets.
