AVEDA INSTITUTE WINNIPEGFrontline ManagerThe Aveda Institute Winnipeg is looking for a passionate, organized, and people-focused Frontline Manager to lead the day-to-day guest experience and frontline operations of our Institute.

This is a full-time, hands-on leadership role for someone who loves people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and isn't afraid to jump in alongside their team.

The Frontline Manager will lead a small frontline team with individual areas of ownership while creating one unified standard for guest experience, teamwork, retail sales, professionalism, and accountability.

This isn't a role where you lead from the sidelines. You'll be present in the day-to-day operation, supporting guests, coaching your team, selling retail, solving problems, creating clarity, and setting the tone for the frontline experience.

Purpose of the RoleTo provide consistent, visible leadership to the frontline team while ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest and student who enters the Aveda Institute Winnipeg.

The Frontline Manager is responsible for creating clarity, accountability, consistency, and strong team culture, while ensuring the Institute operates smoothly and efficiently each day.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience &

- Daily Operations

- Lead the overall guest experience and ensure a warm, welcoming, and professional environment
- Be an active part of daily frontline operations, including greeting and checking in guests, booking appointments, answering phones and emails, selling retail and supporting check-out
- Oversee guest flow and ensure the frontline team is working together effectively throughout the day
- Respond to guest concerns and lead guest recovery with professionalism, care, and appropriate follow-through
- Monitor the guest journey and identify opportunities to improve service and efficiency
- Ensure the Institute, salon, retail, and guest areas are clean, organized, professional, and maintained to standard
- Identify and coordinate follow-up on facility, equipment, and maintenance needs

People Leadership & • Team Culture

- Provide consistent, day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to the frontline team
- Establish explicit expectations and individual areas of ownership while reinforcing that guest experience is everyone's responsibility
- Create a culture where team members communicate, support one another, take initiative, and step in when something needs to be done
- Lead by example in professionalism, communication, attitude, reliability, and guest care




- Coach team members in real time and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Recognize strong performance while confidently addressing performance or behaviour that does not meet expectations
- Support onboarding, training, goal setting, and ongoing development of frontline team members
- Build a team environment rooted in care, consistency, accountability, and solutions
- Work closely with educators, department leads, and senior leadership to support Institute goals

Operations, Inventory & • Ordering

- Ensure frontline systems, processes, schedules, and daily responsibilities are being completed accurately and consistently
- Oversee inventory levels for retail, salon, and operational supplies
- Monitor product usage and coordinate regular ordering
- Ensure inventory is received, organized, distributed, and accurately maintained
- Minimize shortages and unnecessary overstock
- Identify operational challenges and proactively create solutions rather than waiting for problems to escalate

Student & • Retail Support

- Support students in developing professional guest-service and salon-floor skills
- Model the level of professionalism and hospitality we expect students to carry into their future careers
- Work collaboratively with educators to support a positive and professional student experience
- Support retail performance, product education, promotions, and merchandising
- Ensure retail areas, testers, signage, and displays are maintained to Aveda standards

Communication & Administration

- Create strong communication between frontline team members, students, educators, and leadership
- Ensure important information is communicated clearly, consistently, and at the appropriate time
- Monitor and communicate guest experience, retail, inventory, operational, and team needs
- Support scheduling, events, projects, reporting, and administrative responsibilities as required
- Follow through on commitments and ensure delegated responsibilities are completed

What You Bring

- Previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience
- Sales experience
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to provide feedback, coach performance,



and hold others accountable
- A genuine passion for people, service, and creating exceptional guest experiences
- The ability to build relationships while maintaining clear qualified expectations
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- A proactive mindset, you notice what needs to happen and take action
- A willingness to work alongside your team rather than simply delegate to them
- Experience in salon, beauty, retail, hospitality, education, or customer service is an asset
- Experience with inventory, ordering, scheduling, or operational coordination is an asset

Our Interview ProcessWe want candidates to have the opportunity to get to know us—and for us to see how you lead, communicate, and work with people.

Our hiring process will include three stages:

Step 1 — Virtual Interview

Virtual interviews will take place September 17 and September 24.

Step 2 — Second-Round Interview

Candidates selected to move forward will be invited to the next stage, taking place September 29 and October 1.

Step 3 — Working Interview

Final candidates will be invited into the Aveda Institute Winnipeg for a working interview on October 6 or October 8. This will be an opportunity to experience our environment, meet members of our team, and show us how you approach leadership and the guest experience in action.

Our goal is to complete the hiring process and have our successful candidate start no later than October 15 2026.
