Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club is a beautiful, semi-private golf club, located 15 minutes north of Vernon next to Highway 97. The 27 holes and extensive practice facility provide great opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to find their level of fun and take advantage of the fantastic golfing conditions that the North Okanagan provides!

Role:

- Complete all repairs, maintenance, service, and fine tuning on all golf course equipment
- Equipment includes various sized mowers (reel and rotary), rollers, utility vehicles, tractors, backpack blowers, string trimmers, and more
- Manage and organize the physical shop space in a safe and efficient way, with regard to tools, inventory, and any shop equipment (grinders, lift, welding equipment, etc)
- Collaborate with the superintendent on, and manage, a preventative maintenance plan
- Provide professional expertise on future equipment purchases
- Delegate regular tasks (such as machine greasing) with appropriate training and communication to members of the crew and manage those processes
- Provide on-course support as needed (repairs, fine tuning cutting units, etc)
- Follow all relevant safety policies and procedures





Applicant Expectations:

- Minimum 3 years working as a mechanic or 1 year with education
- Preference will be given to those with experience in the golf industry
- Familiarity with gas, diesel, and small engine systems as well as electrical systems
- Ability and willingness to follow manuals, interpret schematics, and follow service schedules
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to communicate both problems and solutions
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently but also capable of working as part of a team when necessary
- Fabrication is not necessary but considered a solid asset
- High attention to detail is essential for this role
- Valid driver’s license
