What we´re looking for
Our team is growing and we´re looking for a Graduate Designer to join our Structural team. This position will be based in Waterloo or Markham.
For this role you need to have:
- A strong interest in structural engineering and infrastructure projects, particularly within the rail and transit sector and water / wastewater infrastructure.
- Eagerness to learn, develop technical skills, and grow within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and approach challenges with curiosity and initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality drawings, models, and design documentation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Interest in working on rail and transit projects, including stations, retaining walls, bridges, maintenance facilities, and other transportation-related structures.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to support projects across different sectors and collaborate with teams from various regions and disciplines.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous professional development.
- A genuine interest in sustainability, innovation, and creating positive outcomes for clients and communities.

- Experience with industry-standard drafting and modeling software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit, is considered an asset.

- Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.
- Design and Conceptualization: Support others by performing prescribed design activities using existing procedures.
- Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.
What You Will Bring To The Team
- A recent or upcoming Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- 0-2 years of experience related to the role
- Proficiency in, or familiarity with, industry-standard drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit is considered an asset.
Salary: Waterloo: $28.50.
- | Markham:$30.
- Salary Range is based on the preferred work location. If the selected candidate´s location differs, changes to the salary range may apply.
