Safetech Environmental Limited is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team to support the continued growth of our Kingston Office. Reporting to the Manager of the Kingston Satellite Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing field work and reporting associated with a variety of disciplines including hazardous building materials, mould and water damage, indoor air quality and environmental site assessment and remediation. This is an excellent prospect to get hands-on field experience in a variety of environments while learning to communicate with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct field work and reporting for Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Surveys including the identification, assessment, and sampling of materials such as asbestos, lead, silica, and mould;
- Complete indoor air quality assessments in residential, commercial, institutional and industrial settings;
- Prepare scopes of work for remediation of asbestos, lead, and mould;
- Provide inspections of remediation work areas and give direction to remediation/abatement contractors to ensure compliance with appropriate standards, guidelines, regulations, and prescribed scope of work;
- Conduct air monitoring for asbestos and analysis of air samples by phase contrast microscopy (PCM);
- Conduct post abatement inspections and sampling;
- Prepare Project Close-Out reports;
- Conduct field work and reporting for Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) including Phase I and II ESAs, and environmental monitoring programs; and




- Conduct field work and reporting for environmental remediation including fuel/oil spills, fuel containing Underground Storage Tank (UST) removals, and contaminated site remediation.

Requirements:

- Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. (an asset)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work flexible hours (after hours, weekends, holidays).
- Valid G driver's license and own transportation.
- Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
- Able to multi-task and thrive in a quick-paced, client-focused workplace.
- Experience using AutoCAD considered an asset.
- Past experience in environmental consulting considered an asset.
- Knowledge of building construction and pertinent regulations/guidelines considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:
- environmental consulting: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- G class driver's licence (required)

Willingness to travel:
- 50% (preferred)
