To be eligible, the person must be able to complete an employment verification, background and reference checks (in some cases a Government Reliability Security Clearance is required) and be eligible to work in Canada.

- The Technician II is a mid-entry level position, responsible for assisting other Technicians, performing maintenance and repair, routine services on non-technical facility components (i.e., walls, floors, etc.). The Technician II is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.

Licenses and/or professional accreditation

Demonstrate an interest or be in the process of obtaining a diploma or a certificate as outlined below.

Any one of the following are considered an asset:

Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution preferred

Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC)

Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA)

Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT)

Facilities Technician Certification





Working towards a trade license, an asset

Working towards Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1

- The Technician III is responsible for operating the facility including, but not limited to other supporting systems, performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems. The Technician III is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation (one of the following bullet points)

Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required

Gas Technician I & II license

- The Stationary Engineer/Power Engineer performs operational work in a central heating or central heating and cooling plant. The contract provides custodial services to federal government organizations at buildings and facilities. Within this context, BGIS functions to render service to clients in providing certified and trained Stationary Engineer/Power Engineer to manage, operate and maintain various registered central heating and cooling plants.

Licenses and/or Qualified Accreditation

Stationary Engineer/Power Engineer certification (2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th class))

- The Technician IV is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems for multiple facilities.



The Roving Technician IV is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation A registered trade license would be required.

- The Petroleum Service Technician / Apprentice will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of pumping equipment, electrical, fuel management systems for retail petroleum stations, large-scale industrial manufacturing plants, utility providers, transit services, and public works yards.

Additional Assets:

Electrical expertise (in petroleum or otherwise) or an understanding of electrical concepts and basic programming.

TSSA Petroleum Mechanic Certifications (PM1, PM2, PM3, or PMH)

Measurement Canada Certified Inspector

- The Property Service Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the effective delivery of a variety of services related to the ongoing operation of the building(s). Provides administrative support to the Operations team in a variety of areas including Work Order Management, Health, Safety & Environmental, Contract Management, Invoice Processing and Vendor Management.

Primary point of contact with various service providers and shares responsibility for the timely resolution of all client requests pertaining to property services.
- The Tenant Services Coordinator supports BGIS clients by coordinating the delivery of small-scale maintenance projects, workspace changes, design services and office services. They coordinate the resolution of tenant issues related to the delivery of tenant service projects. They are also responsible for assembling the scope and specifications, tendering, financial administration and monitoring contractor performance for tenant service and base building projects.
