Position: Hospitality Associate (Cashier)

Employment Status: Seasonal Part-Time

Hours: Minimum 24 hours per week, up to 39.5 hours per week

Hourly Wage Rate: $23.26 per hour

Anticipated Normal Work Schedule

Monday to Thursday: 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Friday: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Note: This schedule is subject to change. The incumbent may be required to work weekends and evening hours.

Summary

As a Hospitality Associate (Cashier), you will represent McMaster University Hospitality Services and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

Represent McMaster University Hospitality Services in a professional manner.

Maintain cash handling experience and proficiency.

Operate a point-of-sale (POS) terminal.

Make change for customers and balance cash tills.

Provide excellent customer service and follow all McMaster University cash-handling procedures.

Work effectively in a busy environment while meeting customer demands with a strong focus on front-line customer service.

Work at all stations as required and perform duties necessary to ensure prompt and courteous customer service.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of shelves, work areas, floors, walls, counters, and equipment.

Work effectively under pressure.





Perform duties efficiently and accurately.

Demonstrate and consistently provide high-quality customer service.

Work both independently and as part of a team.

Refer to the Cashier for additional responsibilities.

May be required to successfully complete a cashier's test.

Education and Experience Requirements

Previous experience in a high-volume production environment is required.

Strong communication, reading, writing, and English language skills are required.

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a quick-paced cashier position.
