Job Summary
Acting as a resource person by providing advice on human resources related matters and policy interpretation to managers and employees. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Responding to clients’ needs by providing expertise and advice on various human resources matters.
- Assessing human resources processes and activities to enhance their effectiveness and ensure they are conducted according to policies.
- Acting as a point of contact to candidates, clients, and stakeholders when coordinating human resources processes.
- Developing and delivering information sessions on human resources related matters to managers and employees.
- Conducting special projects and making recommendations on improvements to the program.
- Researching and gathering information, analyzing data, writing reports and memoranda.
- Developing and evaluating assessment tools, conducting interviews, and providing constructive feedback..
Education
- Undergraduate degree and three (3) years of relevant experience* required or
- University certificate or College diploma (2 year program) and four (4) years of relevant experience* required or
- Human resources certification recognized by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Association and five (5) years of relevant experience* required.
Degree must be delivered from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed. The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.
Any higher level of education (i.e.: Masters,
Doctorate) in one of those related fields of study could be recognized as experience.

Assets
An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Positions will be staffed based on the selection decision principle and operational priorities:
- Knowledge of the Federal Government, its processes, acts, policies, issues, and priorities as it relates to people management.
- Experience in leading staffing and recruitment processes with hiring managers. This includes providing advice and guidance on staffing strategies, assessment methods and tools, as well as candidates selection

Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance. The process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications. The use of illegal drugs is a criminal offense.
