Job Overview
We are seeking a organized and skilled Hydrovac Mechanic to join our team and keep our heavy-duty equipment operating at peak performance. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting hydrovac systems. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our fleet of heavy equipment.
This is a full-time, year-round position. The majority of your time will be spent working in our heated shop in Singhampton with very few roadside or field service calls.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on hydrovac systems and various heavy equipment and commuter trucks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes quickly and accurately
- Conduct welding, assembly, and disassembly of components using hand tools and power tools to facilitate repairs or upgrades
- Operate heavy machinery safely during maintenance procedures and assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with team members to diagnose electrical or mechanical failures on industrial equipment and HVAC systems
- Assist in the training of junior technicians on equipment operation, safety protocols, and repair techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a mechanic with experience preferred
- Solid knowledge of heavy equipment operation and working on hydro vac trucks
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, vacuum pumps, PTO systems, and diesel engines
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for automotive repair and industrial equipment maintenance
- Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and Hydro vac systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining focus on safety protocols
- Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment used in mechanical repair tasks
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members about repairs or maintenance needs
- Mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues efficiently

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
