Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Income Tax Preparer to join our dynamic financial services team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant income tax returns for individual and small business clients. Responsibilities

- Gather and analyze financial documents such as income information slips and bank statements to prepare accurate tax returns
- Use accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools to organize client financial data
- Conduct thorough analysis of client financial information to identify deductions, credits, and potential audit risks
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns in compliance with current laws and regulations
- Review completed returns for accuracy and completeness before submission
- Assist clients with questions regarding their tax filings and provide guidance on potential savings opportunities




- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and optimal client outcomes

Skills

- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Profile, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
- Strong analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately
- Experience with auditing processes and identifying discrepancies in financial records
- Knowledge of financial services including investment income, payroll, accounts payable, account reconciliation, budgeting, and bookkeeping
- Familiarity with tax preparation procedures and relevant regulations
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure error-free filings
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex tax concepts clearly to clients
