Responsibilities The Information Support & Technology Support Specialist – Contract; is a contract position supporting the day-to-day technology requirements of Keywest Projects Ltd. Reporting to the IS&T; Manager and working under the day-to-day direction of the Senior Network Administrator, this role provides hands-on support for employee onboarding and offboarding, computer and workstation setup, user and system configuration, hardware deployment, software installation, equipment inventory, and general help desk activities.

A primary focus of this role is supporting Keywest’s anticipated organizational growth by ensuring new employees and contractors have the technology, equipment, system access, software, and related IT resources required to be productive from their first day. The role coordinates closely with IS&T;, HR & Administration, hiring managers, and other departments to complete technology onboarding requirements in a timely and consistent manner. This role is expected to proactively plan and coordinate upcoming technology requirements based on the organizational hiring forecast to ensure adequate equipment, licensing, and onboarding capacity.

The Support Specialist also provides first-line help desk support to employees and contractors both remotely and in-office, resolving common hardware, software, connectivity, printing, peripheral, access, and user configuration issues. More complex technical, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, or system issues are escalated to the Senior Network Administrator, and the IS&T; Manager.

This role supports the preparation, configuration, deployment, tracking, recovery, and maintenance of corporate computers and related technology assets. This includes laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, phones, peripherals, and other equipment required by employees. Working under established IT & Infrastructure standards and procedures, the Support Specialist assists with user accounts, access permissions, licensed software deployment, system configuration, equipment inventory, documentation, and other recurring operational activities.

The position is intended to provide adaptable additional capacity to the IS&T; department as Keywest grows, allowing the IS&T; Manager and the Senior Network Administrator to maintain focus on infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems, digital transformation, and departmental priorities while ensuring employees receive timely and effective day-to-day technology support.

Specific Duties that may include but not limited to:

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding (Primary)





- Coordinate IT requirements for new employees and contractors based on information provided by HR & Administration and hiring managers.
- Prepare and configure computers, monitors, docking stations, phones, peripherals, and other required equipment prior to employee start dates.
- Configure standard software and applications based on employee role and departmental requirements.
- Assist with creation and configuration of user accounts, email, Microsoft 365, network access, remote access, and other corporate systems as directed.
- Configure appropriate user access and permissions in accordance with established IS&T; standards and approvals.
- Ensure new users receive required equipment, login information, technology instructions, and initial IT orientation.
- Provide first-day technology support to new employees and contractors.
- Complete IT onboarding checklists and maintain accurate records of equipment and system access assigned to each employee.
- Support employee transfers and role changes by modifying equipment, software, and access requirements as directed.
- Complete IT offboarding activities, including equipment recovery, account/access changes, and related documentation as directed by the Senior Network Administrator.
- Coordinate with HR & Administration to ensure onboarding and offboarding activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Help Desk & User Support (Primary)

- Provide first-line help desk support for employees and contractors.
- Receive, document, prioritize, and respond to IT support requests.
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software, Microsoft 365, printing, connectivity, VPN, peripheral, phone, and user access issues.
- Resolve routine support requests independently within established procedures and technical authority.
- Escalate infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, network, or complex technical issues to the Senior Network Administrator, IS&T; Manager, or appropriate technical resource.
- Maintain accurate help desk ticket information, including issue, action taken, resolution, and escalation where applicable.
- Follow up with users to confirm successful resolution of support requests.
- Identify recurring support issues and recommend opportunities for improved documentation, user training, standardization, or automation.
- Assist employees with basic use of corporate collaboration and productivity tools.

Broader IS&T; Support (Secondary)

- Support the IS&T; Manager and the Senior Network Administrator with infrastructure and system activities as assigned.
- Assist with office moves, workstation relocations, equipment deployments, and technology changes.
- Provide deployment and user support during new software, hardware, or technology rollouts.
- Assist with testing of new hardware, software, or configuration standards.




- Support IS&T; projects where additional hands-on resources are required.
- Coordinate with the existing IS&T; team where onboarding or user support involves Toolbox, Keyway, Acumatica, AutoCAD, or other supported applications.

Cybersecurity & Compliance (Support)

- Follow established cybersecurity requirements when configuring computers, accounts, software, and user access.
- Ensure endpoint security tools and required updates are installed and functioning on deployed equipment.
- Support multi-factor authentication and other corporate security controls.
- Immediately escalate suspected cybersecurity incidents, unusual system behaviour, unauthorized access, or security concerns.
- Assist with employee cybersecurity awareness and implementation of security best practices.
- Support IT audits, equipment inventories, and compliance activities as requested.

General Duties

- Track, report, and submit weekly timesheets.
- Actively participate in organizational meetings and training opportunities.
- Identify areas for personal and professional development and recommend improvements.
- Provide assistance to projects and employees on an as-needed basis.
- Support the IS&T; Manager in executing departmental priorities and initiatives.

Qualifications Specific Qualifications that may include but are not limited to:

- 1–5 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, systems support, or a related role.
- Experience configuring and deploying Windows-based computers, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, phones, and peripheral devices.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and user environments.
- Experience with user account setup, permissions, software installation, and workstation configuration.
- Familiarity with basic network connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT ticketing, asset inventory, and equipment tracking processes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve common hardware and software issues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple employee onboarding requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide effective support to both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a growing and changing work environment.
- Experience within an engineering, construction, EPCM, or professional services environment is considered an asset.
