IT/Operations Position

Job Opening: 1.0 FTE Permanent

Classification: IT/Operations Specialist

Status: Non-Union, Full Time Permanent 1.0 FTE The Owen Sound Family Health Team (OSFHT) is committed to improving and maintaining the health of the patients we serve through a team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacist, Mental Health Services, Occupational Therapist, Dietitians and Program Assistants. Based on local health and community needs, we provide access to creative, high quality and comprehensive primary health care programs and services that are based on the needs of the patients we serve.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our team in the role of IT/Operations Specialist, reporting to the Executive Director. The IT/Operations Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining IT systems, assisting end users with IT issues and ensuring accurate and timely data reporting to Executive Director. This position involves coordinating reporting requirements, supporting the building of efficient electronic medical record (EMR) queries for data collection and conducting regular audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Being the point of contact for staff during an EMR outage or escalated computer issue, while liaising with Bluebird/TELUS

· Providing input regarding the IT-related contract renewals and expectations.

· Coordination of updates/repairs/installation of equipment (i.e. computers, phones, servers)

· Maintaining logs on equipment and advising of any upcoming need for repairs, and upgrades of equipment

· Setting up new computers and communicating with Bluebird to have new computers put on the network properly.

· Incoming fax server maintenance and troubleshooting

· Access and run reports on telephone system

· Maintain phone system

· End user support for phones

· Maintenance of the EMR-integrated tool for email reminders and self-check in kiosks





· Reviewing data from check-in tablets and advising all organizations of activity

· Monitoring of security system (doors) and ensuring that they are scheduled to close accordingly during holidays &/or unexpected closures

· Email account management

· Updating and creating new forms in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

· Participate in working groups and committees to ensure proper and most effective data collection

· Training of new FHT employees in the EMR

· Implementing new toolbars, searches, encounters

Specific Education / Job Requirements

- Undergraduate degree (preferred) in a relevant discipline (Health Informatics, Data Management, Information Technology, Health Sciences, Statistics, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of related experience, preferably in a health setting.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (such as Telus PS Suite), data querying, and reporting tools preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to develop relationships with partners.
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information, including Personal Health Information.

Start Date: As soon as possible Compensation: $34.86 per hour, advantages, RPP, Paid Education Days, and Paid Personal Leave days
