Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Journeyman HVAC Service Technician to join our growing service and maintenance team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers, and wants the opportunity to grow into a Service Manager or Leadership Role.
The successful candidate will perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and minor retrofit work on commercial and light-industrial HVAC systems throughout the Calgary area.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service-contract work
- Troubleshoot heating, cooling, ventilation, and control-system issues
- Service equipment including:
- Rooftop units
- Furnaces and unit heaters
- Make-up air units
- Air handling units
- Boilers and hydronic systems
- Heat pumps and related HVAC equipment
- Complete service reports, work orders, and equipment documentation
- Communicate clearly with customers, building operators, and the service team
- Identify repair, replacement, and retrofit opportunities
- Maintain a professional appearance and deliver high-quality customer service
- Follow all company safety policies and Alberta OH&S; requirements
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation when required
Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration certification (required)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (required)
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, and controls
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to complete digital work orders and service documentation
- Gas-fitting experience and controls knowledge are considered assets
