Fluidstream

Calgary

Fluidstream Inc. builds and services patented compression equipment for oilfield production applications.

We are looking for a mechanically inclined person with drive, initiative, and a willingness to learn oilfield service work. This is a full time Field Service Technician role based in Calgary, Alberta.

The main priority is field service at customer oilfield sites. The secondary responsibility is helping build, assemble, test, and prepare equipment in the shop when field work is not required.

You do not need to know Fluidstream equipment before joining. We will train the right person. The best fit is someone who already has some hands-on mechanical, trade, shop, or field experience and wants to grow into a strong oilfield service technician.

This is a hands-on field and shop role. It is not a desk job and it is not a controls-only position.

Who This Role Is For

· Someone with 2+ years of hands-on mechanical, trade, shop, or field experience preferred. We will consider the right person with less experience if they have strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and drive.

· Someone who wants to learn, asks good questions, takes initiative, and follows through.

· Someone comfortable working outdoors at Alberta oilfield sites in winter and summer conditions.

· Someone who wants to build a long-term oilfield service career, not just take a short-term job.

Field Work - Primary Responsibility

· Travel to customer oilfield sites with Fluidstream technicians to support service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.

· Assist with routine service, mechanical troubleshooting, basic electrical and controls checks,

startup support, commissioning support, and field repairs.

· Help replace seals, valves, hoses, sensors, fittings, and other equipment components as required.

· Learn how to diagnose field issues safely and practically under the guidance of experienced staff.

· Communicate clearly with Fluidstream staff and customers as training progresses.

· Prepare basic service notes, photos, and field updates after site visits.

Shop Work - Secondary Responsibility

· Assist with assembly of Fluidstream compression units.

· Support hydraulic plumbing, hose and fitting work, mechanical assembly, teardown, inspection, cleaning, and preparation.

· Help with basic wiring and control panel support when required.

· Assist with testing units before shipment or field deployment.

· Organize parts, tools, and shop materials as needed.

· Work independently in the shop once tasks are assigned and understood.

Qualifications

· 2+ years of hands-on mechanical, trade, shop, or field experience preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

· Oilfield experience is preferred but not required.

· Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience accepted.

· Millwright, heavy duty mechanic,

automotive mechanic, instrumentation, electrical, or similar trade background is preferred.

· Completed trade ticket is preferred but not required.

· Strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, drive, and willingness to learn.

· Basic electrical or controls experience is helpful, but training will be provided.

· Must be comfortable working outdoors on oilfield sites.

· Must be able to lift 50 lb.

· Must be able to travel for field service work.

· Must be available for overtime and occasional evenings or weekends when field work requires it.

· Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.

· Clean driver’s abstract required.

· No major violations, suspensions, or DUI in the previous 5 years.

· Must be able to pass required customer site access requirements and obtain required safety tickets.

What We Offer
