Sushi Chef in Training

Sushi MAHANA offers an authentic Omakase style fine dining In North Vancouver.

We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to build a professional career in Japanese cuisine and omakase sushi.

This position starts with the fundamentals of skilled kitchen work: dishwashing, cleaning, organization, and basic food preparation. We believe these fundamentals are an essential part of becoming a professional chef.

Once you demonstrate that you can consistently handle these responsibilities with reliability, cleanliness, efficiency, and attention to detail, we will begin training you in the fundamentals of omakase cuisine and sushi.

You will have the opportunity to gradually learn:

- Japanese food preparation and knife skills
- Ingredient and fish handling
- Sushi rice preparation




- Fish breakdown and preparation
- Nigiri and other traditional sushi techniques
- Omakase preparation, presentation, and service
- The discipline, organization, and attention to detail required of an omakase sushi chef

Our goal is not simply to hire a kitchen helper. For someone who is committed, hardworking, and eager to learn, we will support your development step by step toward becoming an Omakase Sushi Chef. Pay: $18.25-$25.00 per hour
