Thorold Automotive Solutions is looking for a reliable, hardworking and safety- focused Loader Operator to join our team.

The Loader Operator is responsible for safely moving and positioning vehicles, loading and unloading carriers and deliveries and maintaining the yard. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, enjoys hands- on work and can work independently while being part of a team.

What You’ll Do

· Operate loaders and other equipment safely and efficiently

· Complete daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues

· Keep equipment clean and in good working condition

· Safely transport vehicles throughout the yard and facility

· Move vehicles in and out of dismantling bays

· Safely stage dismantled vehicles in designated yard locations

· Accurately record vehicle location changes

· Accurately record vehicle location changes

· Load and unload car carriers, core carriers, and other materials

· Maintain yard laneways, including smoothing surfaces and addressing potholes

· Keep roadways, aisles, and work areas clean and free of debris

· Load and operate the vehicle crusher according to company procedures and safety requirements

· Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of the crusher

· Communicate any equipment, vehicle or yard concerns to the Supervisor

· Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures

· Report to the Production Supervisor daily regarding outstanding issues and receive daily work instructions

· Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

· Previous experience operating a loader or heavy equipment is required

· Experience in an automotive, recycling,



construction or similar environment an asset

· Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Good communication skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast- paced environment

· Basic computer skills

· Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

· Safety- conscious and committed to following workplace procedures

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Automotive parts knowledge or experience is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to:

· Sit, stand, bend, climb and move intermittently throughout the workday

· Ability to perform physically demanding work

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Ability to work around moving vehicles, heavy equipment and mechanical parts

· Exposure to moderate noise levels and outdoor working conditions
