Job summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Custom Plastic Injection Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling parts directly after they are molded, checking them against strict customer quality standards, performing value-added assembly, and packing them securely for shipment.
Tasks/Responsibilities
· Part Retrieval and Handling: Safely remove or retrieve molded plastic parts from machine conveyors, drop chutes, and automated stations.
· Visual Inspection: Examine parts continuously for defects such as flash, short shots, splay, burning, or warping against a standard sample.
· Value-Added Operations: Perform secondary tasks including trimming excess plastic, degating, and secondary assembly such snap-fitting of components, printing, and welding.
· Inventory, Packaging & Labeling: Do physical count, stack,
and pack approved parts into designated boxes or bins; apply correct inventory (WIP) and shipping labels.
· Documentation: Maintain production logs, defect counts, and scrap tracking sheets.
· Housekeeping: Keep the assigned workstation clean, organized, and free of debris (5S standards).
Qualifications
· Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
· Ability to read, write and understand English.
· Robust attention to detail and ability to spot visual defects.
· Good manual dexterity for trimming and assembly tasks.
· Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 23 kgs (50lbs).
· Ability to keep pace with production output.
· Ability to learn inventory data-entry.
Shift time
Shift 1 (night) – 11:50pm to 7:30am
Shift 2 (day) – 7:25am to 3:55pm
Shift 3 (afternoon) – 3:50pm to 12:00am
Pay: From $18.30 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
