Job Summary

We are seeking a Light Machinist/Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure that parts meet strict quality standards. Responsibilities

- Operate manual milling machines, manual lathes, Brake press, and other machining equipment with precision and efficiency.
- Drill holes, line boring, countersinking, milling chamfers, bore holes, lathe sleeves and bushings.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for precise measurements.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues using hand tools, power tools, and electrical discharge machining techniques.




- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper use of safety equipment and adherence to lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing mechanical knowledge.

Skills

- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with manufacturing experience in machining environments.
- Proficiency in manual machine work.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Familiarity with tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and assembly processes.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when necessary for material handling.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
